All commercial filming in North Somerset requires a permit from North Somerset Film Office.
Time frames: Please provide us with as much notice for filming as possible, especially if it is more complex (e.g. police, fight scenes, stunts, vehicle usage, special access, and road closures etc.)
General Views: Defined as the capturing of images of North Somerset landmarks, buildings, streets, and outdoor spaces. Pieces to camera, interviews, photography shoots, time-lapse sequences, scripted scenes and drone filming are not considered to be general views.
Drones: A £160 charge per day applies for drone use. Drone filming does not require locational fees.
Students: No fees apply for exterior filming. Interior filming or use of council facilities may incur charges – please contact us to discuss.
Charities: Reduced rates or fee waivers may be available for registered charities. Please contact us to discuss your application.
In some cases, additional fees may apply for more complex shoots or out of hours filming.
If you request with less than 72 hours’ notice, an additional admin fee may apply.
